Whats this on my frame??

I was thinking about making some type of push bar to mount my KC Daylighters and CB antena. While looking for a place to mount the bar i came across these things.

What are they and can i remove them to mount my push bar?

thats odd, when I took my 91's front end off there was nothing like that..
I assume you could just cut them off.

My '93 had them - think the PO might have had a pushbar or plow on there.

They just unbolted on mine...

I don't have them on mine, but I do have some other type of flat mounting thing instead. I do remember that my brothers 94 had them on it.

i think its just some kinda extension for the bumper or something. i dont think theyre structural and you could cut or unbolt them... i had something similar on mine but they were rectangular and round at the ends and kinda held my bumper out. crush cans i believe

agreed, my 90 PU didn't have anything like that sticking outta it. But i mounted my brush gaurd using the four bolts located where the stock tow hook and eye are located, and then braced it to Bumper and cross member sorta like kyles95sr5

I'm still wondering what they are for.
One of the PO had an accident and the bumpers were replaced so it wierd that these things aren't damaged at all.
Right now they just rub against the lower plastic bumper.
Maybe these things have something to do with the manufacturing process?
Oh well so i guess its ok to take them off.

I had them on my '94 Runner. They unbolt really easily and arent needed AFAIK. I could see where the previous owner had bumped something with the lower valance and it looked like they absorbed a little of the impact.. I know they have to be removed to install most aftermarket bumpers.

I have them on mine, it looks like they help keep the valance pushed out.

theyre used to keep the bumper pused away from the frame during fruntalimpact wich saves the front end and the frame from any kind of bending and abuse.
