replacing my 91 hilux windshield,called toyota and was told i need a "window glass adhesive dam"for 34 bucks,is that a gasket,a dam to hold sealant,or an adhesive strip like the 3m stuff? i have not removed my cracked windshield yet and would like to find what i need for parts beforehand and dont know what im facing.i have seen adhesive dams online for much less,i'm assuming those are the same and thats all i need.thanks!

Me too. Which was what brought me to this thread to begin with. I need to replace my windshield soon as well. You can get the OEM dam for a little less if you order it online. It would end up being $28.88 shipped from 1sttoyotaparts. For whatever reason I assumed it would be a lot more expensive. Now I'm actually considering getting the OEM and not the cheaper.

EDIT: Where are you finding the "3M Windshield Installation Kit Tape Gasket" for cheaper than $20 a roll. All I'm coming up with is Year One. With their shipping rates, it's $27.94. That's not even a dollar cheaper than ordering the OEM part from the site mentioned above. Odds are 3M makes the OEM(and/or is equivalent to it) too, so go figure...
