he asked what it was not what it does.

could have found that by downloading the FSM and looking at the vacuum diagrams actually.

So basically he's lucky I gave him that answer. But I always try to answer noobs.

The more pics and writeup the better karuso86pu. There doesn't seem to be many working on carb'd trucks? xxxtreme22r has one obviously, he's done a lot of work to his and I'm sure his purrrrs with the Weber, Downey, 2.25" exh and 268!

I'd love to see more info on the 22R, keep us posted!

I forget what exactly it controls, but I think is called a TVSV switch. Temperature controlled vacuum switching valve. The FSM will elaborate.

Don't break it. New ones are expensive. When I tore apart to rebuild I left mine attached to the pipe. It didn't want to separate without extreme persuasion, and I had no need to take it off.

Searching is helpful, but I agree that info on the carbed vehicles in these years is relatively sparse.

once I get my arse together and get my engine bay cleaned up, all this kind of stuff on mine is gonna go bye bye. nothing but the vacuum line for my distributor and brake booster will be left. no more vacuum rail either.

Thanks for the replies. BVSV was all i needed.

It's difficult to search for something that you don't know the name of or what it does.
