What Should I Do?

I have an 89 extended cab yoter, 22re. There is no rust and has a fresh silver paint job. It currently is sitting on 235's with the stock 15X8 chrome rims. I want to make this truck look nicer. I will drive it to school next year everyday and I want to maintain decent gas mileage but have it look good. Being only 15 1/2 right now i want to go as cheap as possible but not sacrifice too much quality. I was thinking 31's with a 3" body lift. Whats the biggest tire you reccomend with 4.10 gearing? What do you guys think is the best way to lift it up a lil and make it look nicer? Also the only off-road i do is occasional mud and a lot of snow and ice.

i can tell you for running 31's you do not need a lift, but welcome to yotatech I love seeing other wisconsinites on here.

There is a ton of info about all of this on here, you just gotta search

You can run 33x10.5 with no lift on stock gearing with the stock rims, but it will be slow and the mpg will decrease. It would be bearable if you have a 5spd (is yours an auto or 5spd?) I wouldnt recommend 33's...I would recommend 31x10.5's. I ran those for 2 years on my '93 22re 5spd in high school. Skip the BL. It will look goofy with only 31's, IMO. I got about 23 mpg on the higway in 2wd w/o locked hubs with 31x10.5's and about 18 city. In 4wd on the highway I got about 20mpg and maybe 16-17 city. The biggest I would 'recommend' is 32x11.5's with a 5spd.

Also.....?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

do not do a bodylift im about to take mine off i hate it my opion they look horrible you can easily fit 31s and you will be fine with 4.10s if you go any bigger thn a 31 then you might want to think about regearing. and welcome to yotatech

yea x2 on skippin the bodylift to only run 31s. and if your rims are 15x8s i doubt there stock. someone correect me if im wrong. if your just wantin it to look good... get some 31inch mudders, and paint them chrome wheels black. i got 33s on stock gearing and it aint to fun. im fine with the way it runs though. its just really slow

wisconsinite... is that some sort of rock or mineral?

anyhow, 4.10 and larger tires... well, if you shift early larger tires won't hurt your mileage. A 275/75R15 should fit in there nice, get you around the 31" size and won't require a body lift.

I'm halfway tempted to tell you to go cheap on the tires 'cause once you start changing things, you will want new tires so there's little sense in getting tires that you're going to throw away.... oh anyhow.

You can do a BL, just don't get 3" until later. get like 1".....or look into 1.5" Ball Joint Spacers for the front (about $109 a pair) and either longer rear shackles or Add-A-Leaf.

need help with posting pics?

what's with people calling themselves an age and 1/2 I don't get it... I mean, if I told you I was 21 1/2, I'm still 21... the 1/2 doesn't really change anything... I guess it would be more accurate for me to say 21 7/8, as my b-day is in less than a month

haha, ok, my "wtf" speach is over for the day

Welcome to YotaTech man! Where's the pics of the whip?

Upload the pics onto Photobucket.com or similar pic hosting site. Start a new post on yotatech. Copy the "direct link" from the Photobucket picture, come back to Yotatech, click on the yellow icon in the toolbar that looks like a mountain and a sun/moon. Paste what you just copied into the box that pops up. Bigger pics FTW.

lift info

Body lifts done right wont cause you any trouble. Do stay away from the 3". Max is 2" for most rigs. The troubles you run into are over-streched wires between body and engine or frame, steering shaft pulled out to an unsafed state and brake lines not being able to take the 3" strech. Ive body lifted a few yoda's useing 2" blocks with great results. Welcom to yodatech
