Unhappy What is this? i made a whoops

Ok, so i did something stupid. Was adjusting the valves in my 22re and left a ratchet on the crankshaft pulley when i started the engine. It took a little to notice but the ratchet spun up and broke a plus off my motor. The plug goes under my EFI, not sure what it is though. Thats what i need to know. I drove the truck home (i was at a buddy's) with the plug unhooked, and it only hesitated when revved quickly. the ratchet snapped the plug off and ripped it off the wire. So, what is this exactly? Where's the best place to get one?

I wanna say cold start time out switch plug. But probably better to have someone else confirm that. Since you drove it home fine I bet thats what it is.

hmmm whatever it is it makes my check engine light come on and it has a slight hesitation when you rev it. I didn't drive it today just because i wanted to know what it was before i kept driving it.

ECT aka engine coolant temp sensor that sends temp to the ecu, not for the gauge.
The one on the left is for the cold start injector switch.

It would most likely run the engine a little lean whilst cold but o2 sensor will make adjustment to correct that, don't go thrashing it and I'd say it's ok to drive

I broke mine off and drove without for a couple days. My only issue was a CEL and a very long crank once in a while.

you might also want to check that your crankshaft pully is still torqued to spec. I did the same thing once and i busted my fan up and loosened up my crankshaft pully. I ended up having to take the timing cover off and lining up the marks and torqueing it again.
