What helps quite motor noise the best??

My airflow from my motor sounds really loud.. has always been that way.

3.0 90 4runner.

whats the best way to lower engine noise??

even when i rev it i can hear the engine better then my 2.5 flowmaster untill i actually get above 2000 rpms.

so whats the best mods to lower engine noise and best way to make it so its quiter.

and new plugs gets rid of that ticking noise when ur driving i heard.

Turn up the radio....

Dont be a "nancy" with noise....this isnt a new truck so its not gonna be quiet...

Its like people getting a mud terrain tire and giving it 2 stars because its loud.

underhood heat mat. it covers the underside of the hood. it deadens the noise quite a bit. im gonna buy one soon just to cut down on my hood heat. other than that, its an old truck, its gonna make noise. want something quiet get a new car. sorry to be so blunt. im not trying to sound like an a-hole.

Already mentioned. It's an old car. Enjoy the sound of it. To me it's enjoyable!

Toyota motors always had more engine noise than others its in their nature. Put thicker oil in it go up to 10w40 and it will quite some not much.... as for the air flow well thats also very common in old japanese trucks the 22r has this alot more than the 3.0. Just be thankful its nothing serious.

I'd just drive it for a few hundred miles without stopping. After a while, you'll notice the engine noise drops quite a bit. Then, lace up you boots and grab your jerry can.

haha it doesnt bother me that much lol but yea after driving a while the engine noise isnt as loud

i can deal withit next oil change ill go 10:40 and see how much it helps

and im doing new sparks to try to get rid of that stupid ticking + premium fuel.

and i just turn up the music put a dip in and listen to my exhaust.

And i love the straight pipe to it sounds more clean to me.

im straight piping it next weekend gotta buy flangers and piping for easy removal.

and I had a 22re and a 22r before in my trucks before this one and it wasnt that loud actually.

but also both were all stock with original everything ha

Thanks everybody and Yes it sounds so much better turned off but i just cant end up pulling the key out i love drivin it. sorry =/
