What does this electrical plug extension accomplish
I was going through the wiring on the 4runner when i came upon this extension plug.
It was connected between one of the main plugs on the steering column.
It is well made and not something rigged. It looks like a straight across plug except one circuit is cut and it had a male and femal spade connector crimped on.

That is an aftermarket plug harness for an alarm system. Usually there is more wiring there, and it appears as though the two wires that come off are for the ignition kill. If they are just looped together, the previous owner had done that to by pass the alarm.
If you truck doesn't have an alarm anymore, just take that subharness out and plug the factor harness back in.
