What is this combo worth?

Found a local guy who has a 5spd and transfer case for sale. I am wanting to do a swap as i have an auto. He is asking $500.00 and said when he pulled it they had 150k miles on them. Thats all i know and i have yet to go look but will in the next day or two. Is this a good price? What is there to look for when i go check it out? Thanks

It wouldn't hurt to do a quick search on car-part.com, a few in my area for less than $300

$300-$350 is more like it IMO.

I got my 2nd top shift t-case for $100.

You need to check your part of the country for comparative pricing.

t-cases tend to be pretty expensive so i'd say its somewhere in the ballpark as long as its all working right. at that mileage it might be worth rebuilding em anyway.

T-cases, top shift - which seem to be the ones people want for crawlers are worth $50-$100 here in TX.
$500 is out of line unless it's got receipts and recently rebuilt.

i got $450 for a g52 & t-case and $500 for my r150 & t-case with 280k on it. i was offed these prices if you thing that out of like call a wreaking yard and see what they want, guarantee it will be way higher than $500...

seems like a fair deal just make sure its the right one.

From a junk yard around here that would be a steal but from a private sale I'd just say average...

It wouldn't be a bad deal for good stuff, but you just never know.

i'm guessing its a g54 because it came out of an 87. it should state on the door jamb tag or the tag under the hood (cant remember) if you have a 89 i'm guessing 22re you might have to cut some sheet metal for the shifters 22re trucks and 4runner had w56 transmissions..

Yea all the carbed trucks till 87 (last year of carb) used either a G52 or G54 tranny.. I have the '87 with the G54 (well Im guessing so since its an 87) .. Tell between a g52 and g54 is from i think the input shaft bearing .. theres a # on there to compare

$500 .. I've seen em for $300

personaly i would only pay him $500 if it was rebuilt.

check around some salvage yards and see how much they want to compare prices.
