What Is This Called?
So the "Carpet" piece that is on the inside of hoods is ripped off of mine. I heard since I don't have it my motor is going to run hotter. Does anyone know what it is called and maybe have a link to one I can buy for a 95 4Runner SR5?

If I had to guess, I would say that its purpose is more for sound deadening than heat insulation. In fact, I would guess the average motor might run slightly cooler. But since whatever heat might be slowed by that pad would now go right to the paint on the hood, I would be inclined to repair or replace it.

It is for sound suppression none of my have it on any longer if the under hood temperatures are hot enough to effect the paint .
You have a fire!!
What tends to happen is they get soaked with oil and other slop over the years then fall down and get stuck under the belts causing them to come off or just get shredded
