What am i looking at here?

i was driving along in 4x4 and all of a sudden i hear and feel this grinding popping noise. get out, see the cv popped out or something. im not really good with ifs have had trucks with solid axles so i dont know much really. i searched what i could, but im wondering if i could somehow pop it back in there for a temporary fix? i have no idea how it got out of there. if i do replace it what am i looking at price wise? here are some pics.

Looks like the clamp on your CV axle snapped thus causing the axle to pull out.

And yes you can pop it back in. My truck did the same thing due to not having any bumpstops on my truck. Go buy a clamp, stick the axle back in and clamp it.

If you can't get it back in, then take it out your axle, unbolt the other side and assemble the whole thing outside of the truck, then put it back in

My truck had a 4inch bracket lift. Im not sure if it makes it any easier but mine went in fairly easy without taking the whole axle out.

If you don't have your droop stops on then your probably over extended the joint and pulled it out.

because you dont have your bumpstop extensions on lol. the lower a arm over traveled and it popped out like jaino said. its a little rectangle jaun and it just drops your bumpstop down 4 inches. call rough country and order some!!
