Its time to ask the knowledge. This part come off my 89 yota automatic transmission on the drivers side. It sits atop the mid shoulder of the transmission just above the pan. Has a single wire, place for a gasket, and two bolt pattern (exterior). Im lost, along with Oreilly's, Autozone, & Advance Auto. Thanks for any help!

Must be one heck of a mystery! I guess I need to find one in a junkyard somewhere. Cant find anything online.

I'm going to guess that it's part of the pulse generator that drives the speedo and cruise
Not saying that's what it is, just a guess...

Have you got a speedo cable on that trans?

Yes it has the cable. I was thinking it was a shift solenoid. Wish I knew someone that had an old tranny lying around and wanted to sell the part off her. Its very frustrating trying to locate one. Everyone wants to sell the whole transmission.

Are there any numbers engraved/stamped on the metal housing?
