What is this?

What is this?-photo.jpg

I was working on my truck and one of the wires pulled out of this. It is bolted to the body on one of the bolts for the coil. Whatever it is must be really important because my timing is so screwed up now that my truck is backfiring like a shotgun.

Good news and bad news. Good news first. I know what that is. It's the radio setting condenser(PNC 86011A).

Bad news, if you haven't already guessed, it has nothing to do with ignition timing. And other than being connected to one of the bolts holding the ignition coil to the body, it doesn't have anything to do with it.

Well I feel like the biggest idiot around... When I found that broken wire I assumed it was the issue. Somehow while I was putting things back together I mixed up #1 and #5 plug wires... Problem solved. And I had a spare condenser off my parts truck, so that is fixed as well.
