What is that??!!!!
That silver cylinder bolted to the side of the block just aft of the oil filter- What the hell is that thing??! Looked in my haynes- no luck.. advance auto- dunno.. asked the toyota stealership.. they must have skipped that class...
Im thinking its a cassette filter, since theres 2 lines coming off it, and it is leaking oil like none other.. Im tired of adding oil so much, and cleaning oil from everywhere, so i wanna new one!
Sorry, I dont have a pic of it- its dark now, maby tomorrow
So- if you know what that thing is, please, let me know.. if not, ill let you know soon enough..

yeah, 3.slo- sry.. its a '93 too.
An Oil Cooler?? That should be part of my radiator, but it does have 2 lines attached to it, which could go to the oil cooler... not sure about that one, I think Ill just have to rip it off when I change oil..
What else could it be??

Sounds like the oil cooler, the 2 hoses are for coolant. There is an O-ring behind it that gets brittle with age and leaks. The good news is the O-ring is cheap, the bad news is it can be a pita to replace.
