well this sucks!!!
I have my new to me 90 4runner in my driveway needing a rebuild, a 4.3 V6 to pick up to build for my 91 4runner, and today, my tranny craps out on me. The syncro's been giving me a fit for bout 6 months, and thought that if it held out just until I got the 90 on the road, I could take my time and learn to rebuild a tranny on my own using Marlin parts. No such luck. Heading home this afternoon, turned a corner, and lost 1st and 2nd gear at the same time. Good news is that its being replaced next week with one that has a warrenty and I get to keep my old one for a spare. The new one also comes with a transfer case, so now I will have a spare t-case. Bad news is that it delays all my rebuild efforts. I may sell the old tranny, but with no promises
