Weird Rubbing?

Ok this is a weird sound coming from the front right whenever i make a sharp left hand turn. sounds like its 2 metal pieces rubbing together and making a scratching noises i guess. It doesnt happen all the time just every once in a while it'll happen. Its blowing my mind and i don't know if its bad and something i need to fix

If it's a 2nd gen it could just be the steering stops. The plastic caps wear out and metal contacts metal. Some grease will help.
Or it could be the wheel bearings. Turning left loads the right front wheel bearing so it could be going.

Noisy steering stops are not serious, but wheel bearings are. Put some grease on the steering stops and if the noise goes away you're good. If not you may have to replace the bearings

Steering stops

thats where they are on my 92 pickup. Note that the plastic caps are used to the metal , so i too have the same metal grabbing sound which seems pretty nasty but not to worry at all. It sounds worst when turning in uneven terrain.

Put some on the end of the bolt and some on the steering stop. I found grease doesn't last very long, but then I live in a rainforest. I had better success with antisieze compound.
