weird clutch noise

hopefully someone here will be able to help me out, Whenever i push my clutch in it makes a squeeking noise and it sounds like it is coming from the transmission where the clutch is, the sound is never constant it will cut in and out when it makes the noise and sometimes it makes it while i am sitting still and the clutch is not engaged. anyone know what the problem could be? thanks.

Are your belts tight? How old is the clutch? And how much free play is in the pedal?

Go and Start the truck pop the hood rev it, and listen to the belts. All three of them. Other than that the throwout bearing could be it but I doubt it.

Sounds exactly like the throwout bearing; was it replaced when your clutch was replaced? Was it OEM or aftermarket? Do you sit in traffic a lot with the clutch depressed?

hey rabbit i am pretty sure the throw out bearing was replaced when they did the clutch. i left the truck to my uncle whos a mechanic to finish while i was away at school and he told me the other day that he was pretty sure he replaced it. I do sit in stop and go traffic just about everday for about 20-30 minutes when i am on my way to school and i am turning 35s. if it is the throw out bearing how hard is it to replace? thanks

I think he means do you sit at lights with the truck in gear and clutch depressed or do you put it in neutral and leave the clutch out.

throwout bearing requires removal of the transmission, unfortunately. Unless someone has figure out a way to replace it without taking the dang thing out....?

everyone i talk to tells me it is the throw out bearing so I am going to start on taking it out tomorrow and go ahead and replace the clutch while i am in there and have everything out. What i plan on doing is dropping the transmission with the transfer case still together and just disconnecting then rear drive shaft. I think this is the easiest way to do it, any opinions?
