weak points of 3.0 and auto Vs. 3.4

I have already asked about the 3.0 Vs.3.4 and found that most say the 3.4 is better. I know the 3.0 is under powered. I am kind of OK with this, i drive like a slug normaly. I also know the 3.0 has head gasket issues. Other than the power and head gaskets is ther any other weak point of the 3.0/auto that i should know about. Also is the head gasket both front and rear or just one of them? When it goes does it ussualy do other damage or simple need a gasket change? Are the Autos any good or are they poor compaired to newer 3.4 autos?

i guess if it is just power and a head gasket then i might be OK with it. The power thing is not that big of a deal to me. that just leaves a head gasket as the only weak link. Is this right?

IMO, it's the H transfer case that sucks the most life out of the engine.

And no, I'm not gonna link you the info, or start another overrated discussion about either engine.
