umm... if it's between the starter and the manifold...
why not remove the starter?

This thing screwed me over when I replaced my headgasket.
What I did was loosen the fuel filter frame (what you are mistaking to be your starter) from the block, and created enough space to install that metal water hose. Without doing that, I saw no way of completing the install. It set me back a good 3 - 4 hours, and I feel your pain. It annoyed the out of me, and many times I considered simply cutting it and running heater hose around the engine (although we all know that is a terrible idea!). After all the work, I don't think about it anymore, but, I definitely sympathize with you. Best of luck. |

thanks i realized it was the fuel filter and decided to replace it because there is almost no way to get in there without pullung the manifold and i dont want to do this again it i dont have to. im supprised how difficult it is to work on this motor. its like you need the hands of a small child to get to some of these areas.
