Water in fuel like symptoms...
So a few weeks ago I pressure washed my engine bay carefully (and not for the first time either) and I must have got some water in the engine because it did the stutter thing for a minute and went away...or so I thought.
Lately I have a problem with similar stutters but not as strong or long. Usually under 2100 ish rpm's . When I try to speed up from a stop or going up hills it will hesitate or stutter a little untill about 2500 rpm's then go fine untill the next gear.
I sort of assumed it was my fuel filter, but now I am wondering if there still may be water in it somewhere, think seafoam will get it out if there is? Also could a faulty head gasket cause problems like that?
I couldent find the thread but I remember someone having the same issue and I was wondering what happend to that guys truck.

Thanks for the link, tons of good ideas there...which leads me to my next question.
I Tested mt TPS with an ohmmeter and all seems well as far as the values go. But I did notice the boot on the spring on the throttle cable is damaged and slows down the spring a little when it is closing. If water got into the boot would it have gone into the EFI?

I think it might have been my truck. I did the same, tested the tps and vam. Couldn't find ANYTHING out of spec. did find an exhaust leak, but not likely the problem. I ended up running isoprophl alcohol in a couple tanks of gas and it has seemed to go away for the time being!!
I did change the fuel filter again for the hell of it.

Check everything.
How's your fuel mileage? If you're still getting decent mileage you can pretty much rule out the O2 sensor.....

So far I checked the igniter and distrubtor cap. Both were dry and I cleaned the contacts in the cap. I still have yet to check the plugs, but I suspect they will be dry as well. What else should I be looking at electrical wise?
I still have "decent" fuel milage about 19 mpg.
So what about the boot on the throttle cable spring, is there a way for water to get in the system there?

Look for an air leak between the AFM and throttle body. I had the exact same stuttering problem at a specific rpm especially under load, and that was my problem.

Did you see or hear the air leak, at any rate I think I can rule that out since I cant see or hear one.
I also noticed in a thread Thook said when measuring the resistance of the TPS between points E2 and VTA the needle should smoothly move when you move the throttle plate...mine is erratic.
I also took off the TPS connector, it made the idle go up quite a bit and it made the stutter alot better but did not eliminate it completly (It was a rather short test drive as well)
Hopefully I can afford a new TPS sometime soon, and even more hopefully it will set my truck straight.
