Warn Hub question
so I just got an 88 4runner that came with Warn hubs. I'm getting rid of my 88 pickup so I am swapping the AISINs from that on, and the Warns onto the pickup.
when I took the Warn hubs off, i noticed there was no gold bolt attached to the axle shaft. From what I've read, there should either be the bolt or sometimes a retaining ring holding it in there. maybe it popped off or is still in there I suppose, but I don't think so since the hubs just came right off.
bought the rig from a teenager who said he installed the hubs himself, so it's entirely possible he did it wrong or got them used or something without all the parts. I noticed neither hub had a gasket for the cap too.
so my question is *should* either the bolt or retaining ring be on there to hold the axle shaft in place? it was obviously driven and probably wheeled like it was for some time and nothing appears busted.
