wanted to share some pics of my restoration

Hi everyone, I dont spend alot of time here but I was exicted about gettin my truck out of the body shop today so i could take her home and finish my restoration work in my garage.

Bought this 88 SR5 for $1000 bucks and was thinking I was gonna take it hunting and haul trash lol, it really was in ok shape when i got it..140k no leaks anywhere and cruises on the freeway at 75mph very nice. Its the V6 model which wasnt my 1st choice but cant be too picky at that price.

heres a list of things ive done so far and still have alot left but im having sooo much fun doing it I kinda hope it takes me awhile.

Body work and paint, i chose Mercedes Obsidian black Pearl

New chrome bumpers front and back and new end caps

Clear corners, turn signals and H4 headlight upgrade

New tail light lenses and had painter smoke them

Toyo Mud tires 31"..new grille..fog lights and tons of used interior parts from several wrecking yards ..all oem and new paint on them aswell

new alpine deck, amp , speakers , sub

got a set of seats out of an 88 that have the lumbar and blosters that are adjustable ..they were in like 7.5/10 cond.

I wanted to go oem w everything then add on from there as if i bought it new and then upgraded the things i wanted in the truck lol.

painted and clear coated the top straight black
alot more i cant think of right now and Ill get more pics when I actually finish I just felt like sharing what ive done so far.

this is the website for the place i bought the carpet kit from
www.auto-interior.com

my color is 857 Med. Gray
$209 for the complete standard kit and $40.35 shipping

If i could do it over again I would have gotten a darker gray, and you cant use the pieces they make for the wheel wells in the back as the oem carpet has cut outs for the roll bar and for the tie down hook thats mounted on the side of the wheel well.
I ended up using the ones I already had and just pressure washed and dyed them.
And there is no holes in the carpet at all you have to make your own for every screw , bolt etc.

Very clean 88 nice looking job... that black is a good colour but IMO you need to dress it up with some different wheels... maybe FJC 17s? or so... and the tires need some dressing they're too dull against the shiny deep black pearl...
good job on the interior... did you B-Quiet the interior before you put it back together?
don't forget to get it rustproofed...
