Visual Differences in Camshafts?

Hey all,

I am looking to buy a motor from a guy and he swears that it has a Crawler 440 cam in it. I am wondering if there is anyway to tell just by looking at the cam? Are there any special markings or stampings? Does a stock cam have any markings or stampings on it? Thanks in advance for all the help.

The only way to really know is to measure the cam lobes unless you have really good Micrometer eyes.

Then you need to know the specs of the cam your looking at

If you can look at it you can measure it not perfect but close enough.
