Looking at moving to Virginia. What are emission testing requirements if any around the glocester area.

Thanks!

You ought to learn how to spell Gloucester first. It's spelled differently than you'd think "Gloster" would be. Anyway there's no real emissions testing, except for people who live in Northern VA. You'd fall under the Chesapeake District. There is an annual inspection that makes sure you have a muffler and catalytic converter and other mostly safety items. Here's a list, scroll down: http://www.vsp.state.va.us/Safety.sh...pectionProgram

I used to live in VA, just moved out to the West Coast. Other than the annual vehicle inspections the lack of emissions testing was awesome! I have so many friends that would take cats off and stuff and just throw them back up right when they had to get the inspection then take it right back off. There's a lot to do out there. Not so many legal trails per-say but there are lots of trails that people use non the less. Where I was living it was more of a mudding than off road trails scenario.

@nervo haha I knew I spelled it wrong but didn't have time to fix it.

@dixie. Yeah I'm in south ga where if you have a vin you can get it on the road in 5 minutes. I have cut my cat off and was Worried they would check for that.

I got the truck titled in my moms name before I got married so if I were to keep it in her name and not go about transferring it back to mine.

Only northern VA has emission testing, the rest of the state just has to go through a normal state inspection. That does include having a "cat" though..... However I know alot of guys who have gotten through with just the shell of a cat on there. Most inspectors won't check to see if it's a legit cat or not.
