Vin # driving me crazy

So I got a 92 pickup. The vin on the cab is a 92 vin. I know it's history. The vin on the frame is only 12 digits, I can't seem to decode it. Any one have sum history on this? Maybe pre 1981 frame? Any help is appreciated.

As far as I know, the frame markings are not completely identical to the VIN.
I know that they are not, on either the '87 or the '92 and '95s' that I have.
The last 5 or 6 digits of the frame number should be the same as the last 5 or 6 digits of the VIN however, because this is the production line sequence number.
If these don't match up, your frame has been replaced or VIN tampered with.

You can find the frame number on the frame rail behind the passenger front tire.
The frame has a raised area there where the number is stamped.
At least that's where it is on 1st and second gen 4Runners.

Ya right behind the F/R tire, on the frame.
The last digits don't match.

The last digits do match on all three of mine.
The beginning part of the frame markings are different than the VINs' though, and have less characters like you said.
Something's not kosher with yours.

Here in the great Salt belt any numbers on the frame are long gone.

Trucks this old no telling what parts came from where or what year.
