Vibration dampener?

Vibration dampener?
Anyone know how important the vibration damper thing is that hangs off the transfer case? My recently swapped in R150f had the dampener bent up at a 90 degree angle from where it should be. Haven't had the time to take it off and straighten it, but does it matter? I don't feel any vibrations.
