valves or bad injectors?

hello there, I just finish putting my 95 4runner with the 3vze engine together after replacing the headgaskets and now it is making this clicking noise on the driver side, however, I have read that the injectors can make a clicking noise. when I was putting it together, i found out that two injectors green cap were broken but because I just wanted to have the vehicle running, I put the injectors without the caps....injectors without the cap can cause this noise or bad valves?

As far as the pintle caps go, they really would have nothing to do with a clicking or tapping noise. The caps are there for protection of the nozzle and usually help hold the O-ring on.

Get yourself an automotive stethoscope to diagnose the injectors or the valves. Did you check the valve clearance before buttoning it up?
