have you adjusted the valve lash? do a search on valve adjustment, and you'll find a ton of info.

no i havnt adjusted it yet. just lookin for sum suggestions before i take apart my engine. would any body recommend some other mods or sources of the problem?

If you think you have a valvetrain noise the first thing to do is to check the valve clearances and set them to spec.
While you have the valve cover off you can inspect the timing chain and guides And when it goes back together, don't overtighten the valve cover nuts as this will make the valves noisey.

I 2nd that as this was my problem. I also no that if the valve covers are to tight, it will cause tapping as well.

what do you mean by fuel injectors? they make a tapping noise?

when you guys say that over tighting the valve cover bolts can cause taping...how does that work? just curious
