Vacuum Problem!!! 93 Toyota Pickup 3VZE
I'm by all means no techy on cars but i've been looking at the diagrams for the vac system. I've noticed my mechanic had my (AS) Vac Line with the check valve plugged and from one of those three holes by the motor sticking out to the left of the EGR Valve(probably 2 rows over) with one of the tubes but with a nail in it. I then took that line out and ran a new probably 3 inch line to the line with the check valve which i'm assuming connects with the VCV(AS). After that i start the engine and i notice dramatic idling and major smell of gasoline going through my exhaust. So..... I put them back like my mechanic did and its still idling and choking. Maybe i hooked it up wrong? I'm at a lost .... need help please. Did he disable the VCV(AS) for a reason?

Beats me; what's an "(AS) Vac Line"?
First, there's a sticker under the hood with the correct vacuum routing. Send us a picture of yours if you have trouble interpreting it.
Second, a picture of your setup is worth, oh, a lot of words. More than you've typed. Help us to help you.
There are only two check valves; one to the PAIR and one to the ADD. Do you think one of those were disabled?
