V6 Chain Drive T-Case rebuild kit?

Can anyone tell me where to get a rebuild kit for my transfer case? I have an '89 with the V-6 and auto tranny. Chains must be stretched because when in 4wd, it slips in hi and lo. I'm going to eventually go with a small block chevy and 350 tranny but thought i would fix this transfer case to use till then. Plus it would probably be easier to sell the engine tranny and transfer case as a whole working unit.

I'm too sure but I think your tranny and t-case are one unit...at least on some 3vz's. Someone else chime in here... I don't know if that's possible to get a kit for yours in particular.

you can rebuild the transfer case but you have to split it from the trans which means pretty much rebuilding the trans at the same time. if you go that far you might as well keep what you have. save up for something else and sell what you have in working condition.

are you certain the tcase is at fault? you might want to check out some of the fsm link at the top of the page and see what the trouble shooting sections have to say. not saying it cant happen but i dont think the tcase chain would get as much stress as say the timing chain on a 22re motor.

thanks again i will check that out. all i know is that when i put it in 4 hi or lo, it "pops" like the chains are jumping "teeth on a sprocket".
