Update on Second Guess
Hello all!
Just wanted to give everyone that was involved/read my posts an update about my 1994 4Runner (Second Guess). This will be a short post covering my main issue I was having and the fix. It has been quite some time since I posted so the original link is provided.

Here we go.....
The most import issue was excessive ping after it warmed up, that issue was directly related to the bad machine work I had done while living in Arizona, and not due to low octane fuel or bad knock sensors. Cylinder #4 was not bored out to the proper size which left a oval shaped bare spot in the cylinder. So when the oil heated up it would get by the rings and inject oil into the cylinder causing the ping. I have rebuilt the motor a third time and now Second Guess gets a whopping 22 mpg and no ping at all.
Second Guess specs are:
1994 4runner
22RE
5 Speed
4x4
33x12.5 Big Horns
and 4:88 gearing
Front hubs converted to manual locking
So my advice to anyone with the pinging issues should first know:
Are you burning oil? If so...could be the ping issue..
Is it your daily driver? If so, the gas is fresh move on...
Thanks to everyone with suggestions and advice from before and I hope this will help the next Guy/Gal out
Any questions from this or the original post I'll be glad to answer.
PEACE
