Update on idle, made more progress today

Code 5,6 and 7. Well code 5 is the O2 sensor and that's the least expensive one of the bunch, so I replaced it and erased the codes (pull the + battery cable for a few minutes). Now all the codes are gone and I only have a very slight stumble once in a while. I'm thinking the Seafoam will take care of that in a couple minutes.

Oh and I reset the idle with the jumper in there before I replaced the O2 sensor. It was idling so badly a 5* BTDC that I thought it was going to just die. After the O2 replacement and the drive around town it's idling better and I readjusted the timing to be DNO 5*. Before it was bouncing all over the place.

I plan on foaming it tonight and will let ya'll know how it turns out.

I still get an "old gas" smell from the exhaust even though I've run almost a full tank of expensive stuff through it with some injector addative. If it's the catalytic converter that's making it stink and sound "puffy" at the tail pipe then that thing is getting replaced too. Thoughts?

Reinstall your old O2 sensor when you seafoam. All of the carbon that will loosen up will end up going into the new O2 sensor and probably screw it up. I saved my old O2 for this reason.

Remove and clean your spark plugs after seafoaming. They will have trash on them.

I would do the same. Seafoam is great but if your engine is dirty it's going to kill your O2 sensor.
