Uneven wear on distributor contacts????
Hello Threaders:
My 1991 Toyota truck
3.0 is not running smoothly, missing slightly as the truck gets up to speed. I took off distributor cap and rotor and found that the rotor is not making even wear on all 6 contacts. The wear on contact #1,3,4,6 has excessive wear while #2,5 has no wear. I have inquired with a couple of sources and have been told it's more likely wear in the shaft. I have moved the shaft but do not feel any play. Would sure appreciate your help - if possible respond within a day as I will be on foot. Thank you.
