U-joint trouble

Hey guys,
I pulled my Driveshaft, pulled off the old Ujoint and got ready to put the new one on. When I line up the joint and start putting on the first two caps the joint gets much stiffer. Also one of the caps acts like it doesn't want to go in past a few millimeters.

Anyone know whats going on?

make sure your driveshaft is really clean where the caps go in. Youll need to use a little force with like a rubber mallet to get em in.

Use a vise not a hammer. If you hammer you run the chance of banging some bearings to the bottom of the cup. Then you will have some real problems.

If you don't know how? You prolly need to find someone who does and let them show ya, Its has a little bit of a art to it, using a hammer. Whatever you do , you do NOT want to bend your ears together or it will be hard to key.

You might take the caps back off, its possible to have some needles fall down into the cap and that will stop them from going in all the way.
