Two more thumbs down for Bosch platinum plugs in a 22RE
Put them in when I first bought my truck a few months ago.
Motor was pinging a little and running hot even with high octane gas. Idle was decent but a little bit unsteady.
I installed NGK's this week and the pinging seems to be gone (we'll see when I fill up again), it runs cooler, and the idle is rock solid.

I ran Bosch Platinums for 13 years and about 190k miles with no issues at all. I had a pinging problem that several people blamed on them so I finally put some NGK's in it and it didn't run or sound any different at all. It finally quit pinging when I replaced the rad, tstat and water pump.

plugs?
Those problems can hardly be traced to the plugs, unless you've gapped them wrong, or are using the improper heat range. There are too many other factors to simply call them out as the culprit.
Have you taken intop account the weather has started to cool off in most areas? That could be the reason you're not feeling the heat anymore.

I run bosch Platinum 2's and actually noticed a little bit of a performance gain.
However, my valves being so far out of adjustment robbed all my HP and Torque

Hey, i'm not gonna stop using my bosch platinum's just because it's some "rule of thumb"
i've had nothing but good things come from using these plugs.
Better power, a little bit better MPG, etc etc.

yall run what you want to but I know that the ngk v power 1.59 cent plug can support over 600 hp with the right heat range and proper gap....I have seen it in a honda motor that I built....platinum and iridium plugs.....biggest waste of money to hit the market yet....
