Turn Headlights on, I have no Cluster display.
I have a Digital stock display and works fine until I turn the headlights on...then I have nothing on the cluster. Turn headlights off then everything comes back on.
Any direction would be appreciated.

fuses usually when ur tail lights go out the dash light will to so that you know that the tail lights are out might want to get a dmm to test some stuff to to see why the fuse has blown maybe short to ground check trailer wiring if you have any and tail light wiring

I checked them last week...I will look again. History...is that there is a few wires under the hood that I can't figure out where they go. The engine was swapped before i bought it, but none of the EFI/throttle body/exhaust/wiring harness etc wasn't hooked up and some wires on the wiring harness were cut. But, I dont think that should affect it...Thanks for the replay...I will check the fuses again today...or first the tail lights. Hopefully its that easy, but for ego purposes I hope not...lol.

Digital No Workie
I have precisely the same problem, I think it is the dimming circuit within the dash. I will tear into it tonight, and let you know if I find anything

Hey jdeeds,
I fixed the problem, or at least bypassed it. I think the problem is that the incandescent
lights that light the label for the digi have a short in them. When you turn on the lights, all the power is shunted through the short to ground, leaving not enough power for the digi display.
Since you don't need backlighting to illuminate digital gauges, I removed the illumination pin, wrapped it up neatly to the harness. My gauges work fine with the lights on, of course no backlighting. They even dim appropriately with the lights on.
If you are looking at the connectors, I believe the illumination pin is a red one down to the far left. ( I will post a pic if you need it).
Look in the FSM for the method to remove the pins from the harness (a jewelers screwdriver works well) and voila! a functioning dash!
