Tubbing 2nd Gen 4runner
Who has done it? Ive seen Scuub's post about him tubbing his taco for 35s (thats where I got the idea to do mine), but anyone done a 2nd Gen front firewall?
After beating the ever living piss outa my pinch weld, I decided my 33's need more room to stuff and I'm too cheap to lift it/like keeping her low!
Already took a bit of the fender off on the inside too.... Gonna need to cut those. Probably shave 1/4" or so off the front bump stops and trim the rear quarter panel as well, especially since I have this

I think its time I just said screw it...? The lift money is gonna go towards paying the parents off and a locker for the rear.

Like I said on the phone, just be careful on the passenger side since your ECM is down there.
Do you have a 110 Mig welder? If not, I'd suggest borrowing one from one of the guys. 220 will deff do, but I've heard its hard to get the settings down low enough to not burn through.
I was told "if you tack weld every 1" or so and use a butt ton of silicone RTV then you'll be good."
Well, I did'nt take that literally and welded everywhere plus added RTV around every seam as well as 3M seam sealer.
Before ( LOL, if you look hard enough on the door of this picture you can see my bald ass head.:
Drivers side seam sealer:
Passenger side seam sealer
Passenger side after seam sealer and rubberized undercoating
Here is my tubbing thread for reference.

I wish you luck Matt!
