Tryin to get my doors off

I'm try to get the drivers door off of my 86 4runner right now and it's a bit difficult. My windows are manual so all i have are those 4 bolts. The top 3 came of with some heavy persuasion and the tights wrench i could find. The bottom one though, is not coming off. I'm worried i'm beginning to warp the edges of the bolt and then it will never come off, so i came here. I think i have the door propped up correctly so that it's not it's own gravity holding the bolt in. Should i use the straw on the WD-40 and let it soak for a while? i don't tihnk these doors have ever come off, personally. any suggestions?

PS. i think i've seen something here about this, but has anyone just cut the actual hinge bolt, and replaced it with a nut and bolt that can easily by undone? it seems like that'd be soooo much easier. thanks

I would put the other bolts back in and then try to loosen that last one. It may help you to pre-treat it with some PB Blaster.
Lesson to learn here is loosen everything before things actually come off.

yeah, people around here have done it, i don't even think you need to do a thread search, should be on the first thread page. anyways, keep spraying that with WD-40. the more the better, not necessarily in ounces, but in repeat attacks of the rust. also double check the door balance. i recently pulled a door off a Nissan Sentra i sold and if its out of balance even the slightest, you'll never get it.

Last I heard, WD-40 isn't enough of a penetrant to work on something like this. If you are serious about what you are doing here (generally with your truck) then this will not be your last time encountering a stubborn part rusted shut/down. Invest in a can of PB Blaster and you'll see why everyone raves about it.

PB works for me! Just spray, let sit a few, and attempt again. If it still doesn't move, refer to step one!

I'm having the exact same problem. The lower drivers side hinge is shot (excessive play) and while trying to adjust I found that both bolts on the top hinge (the hinge to door bolts) loosened nicely and the top bolt on the bottom hinge but the bottom bolt unthreads about 3/4 turn and then binds up again.
I need to get it off to replace the hinges. I've already tried soaking it in wd40. I guess I'll keep playing with it for now, maybe try this PB blaster stuff.

put all the bolts back on and remove the bottom one first. loosen them all at the same time, though...little by little will be best.

How rusted is it? If you expect the threads are rusty, try tightening it slightly first, or give the bolt head a good smack with a punch/socket extension and hammer and try loosening it again.
