Truck still won't run!

Okay, so I almost drowned it in the river. Now it won't stay running. ECU didn't touch any water. Truck is '91 pickup 4x4 w/22re, and 5 speed.

Here's a list of what I've done:
sprayed EVERYTHING down (especially electronics and fuses) with WD-40
removed water-contaminated fuel from tank
put in new fuel with water-remover additive
changed out fuel filter
changed spark plugs
changed oil and oil filter
EVAP canister is dry

It starts but won't stay running. It will start, but quickly dies. When I try to give it gas, it dies even faster. What to do, what to do? Help!

it sounds like its just running on the cold start injector, one quick test you can do is with the key in the run position take off one injector plug and see if it has power on one of the two pins, if so, then take a test light hook the alligator clip to the positive battery terminal and probe the other pin it the connector, while watching the test light, crank the engine, the test light should blink, if not that means the computer for some reason is not turning the injector on/off

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, it seems there is still water in the fuel system. When I loosen the cold start injector banjo bolt and fuel sprays everywhere, I do notice that there is "beading"...fuel doesn't bead, does it? I figure the fuel stays flat, while it's the water that beads up. Am I seeing this correctly?

My truck was underwater for 1 &1/2 hours before getting fished out. Water sat in the fuel system for probably 1 week, at least. And yes, I've already drained the tank and added fresh fuel.

do you hear your fuel pump running when you turn the key? maybe try disconnecting the fuel line at the cold start put it in a like a cup and keep turning the key to and let some fuel run thru.

did the water kill the motor or did you shut it off before that?

ECU did not touch any water. Already sprayed the distributor down with WD-40 like three times. And yes, I can hear the fuel pump running. I shut it off before it sucked in water. I actually had to drive my truck out of the water while four other 4wd Toyotas pulled on me.

you might need to purge the system a bit more, there should be a fuel pump test port next to the pins where you short together to read codes, try running the pump for a minute or so to purge any water in the fuel lines, then retry starting it, it may take awhile to purge the water from the injectors if there is any in them

I have Toyota spark plug wires, only about 1 year old. They're still good. Any other suggestions?

With the cold start injector banjo bolt loose, it will run, even when I give it gas. But fuel is spraying everywhere! With it tightened up, the motor will die.

My friend and I cranked and cranked the engine forever with the spark plugs out. That was after I changed the fuel and the fuel filter. How much water could there possibly be after the fuel filter?

i would think that it would be purged by now, maybe try to get it running on some starting fluid for about 10 sec and see if that will get it going, it might just need some rpm and heat to remove any water in the cylinders, thats what i would try, IDK
