Alright a little history of what I have done to the truck with little or no effect to helping me fix this problem. All parts are new: plugs and wires (NGK), fuel filter, 02 sensor (denso), accel main coil, battery and 130 amp alternator with bigger wires, new fuel pump. I also put a new timing chain kit on (if it makes a difference at all).

The truck will bog down a little between 2-3K when reving the engine andwill cut off when giving it gas in gear.

Sounds just like insufficient fuel delivery to me.

I thought about that also. I did not use a denso fuel pump when I replaced it.

I forgot to add the charge and brake light are on when the key is in the on position but turns off once I start the truck. The truck also dies when I turn on the head lights and heater.

Ya I'm about to take it to someone to fix it. I'm about over the truck. I was hoping it would be something easy to fix but I have tried just about everything.

check and clean up grounds and battery connections. check timing. just had the same bogging/no power 2-3k thing happen on a buddy's 22re. turned out his timing was like 5 degrees after tdc.

Sam thanks for the links. I have replaced the alternator to fuse with 4 gauge, negative battery post to engine block with 4 gauge, and have to install my engine block to fender wheel with 4 gauge tomorrow. I'll check the rest of my grounds tomorrow also and see if I can find any that look suspect. I have not replaced the positive wire that goes to the starter and fuse but it is 4 gauge right now. I'm not sure of the age but I'm going to replace it anyways after reading those other threads.

Good advice; a bad ground or contact could limit amperage to the fuel pump~

If you have a corroded wire(s) to the fuel pump, it won't pass full power & may limit the amount of power it will make, hence dropping your fuel pressure & or volume. Think of it as running an electrc string trimmer with a 100 foot long, 30 gauge cord.

Well Im happy to report as of right now the truck is running fine. I replaced the small wire going from the block to the passenger side fender well with 4 gauge. With the new 4 gauge wires and 130 amp alternator the lights do not dim when I use the heater and turn signals at the same time and the truck seems to be a little more repsonsive.

Thanks for the help guys. I would of never thought something as small as a ground wire could of been the problem.

yay! i love it when the answer is cheap and simple. fyi your runner is sick... i want that color.

for some reason my truck had the post-to-body ground chopped off and it caused all sorts of problems until i replaced it. even my stereo didn't work right.

Thanks man. I'm really glad I was able to fix it myself before I got totally frustrated with it. I was about to load it up on a trailer and take it to the local toyota tech.

BTW now I have brake problems. Should be easy to fix.
