Truck chugs

Background-New head gaskets, water pump, plugs on a 94 3.0 ~1.5 months ago. Everything runs well, but I've been having some difficulty starting it in the mornings and it requires a long crank.

Secondly, while driving and keeping the tach between 1500-2500, it likes to chug chug chug like a choo choo until I get my rpm's up to around 3k.

I do have a CEL on, and I've checked it as a code 25 before, cleared it, ran it, tested it again per the FSM and it doesn't come back on until much later.

I've tried to see if there are other topics like this, but I haven't been so lucky and I would appreciate some direction in fixing this.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a cold start injector issue which means it's an EGR issue which goes right along with what your saying.

If the valve is stuck open it will effect the drivability down low - below 3g's, and will effect the Cold start injector as well

Could also be as simple as a vaccum line but it's definately EGR or vaccum line improperaly hooked back up after the headgastket redone.
