Transmission noise HELP!!!
I was on here with a thread about tranny noise about a month ago.
92 Pickup 3L 5speed 4x4.
At around clutch engagement I get a nasty squealing noise. BUT if I match the revs perfectly no noise.
ALSO it does it in gear at a light with the e-brake on.
Since this was all happening and I had a parts truck I decided to hell with it and swapped the transmission. This transmission ran perfect in the other truck.
So completely different transmission, ALSO did brand new pilot and throwout bearings. Clutch was changed last November.
This unfortunately did not solve the problem.
I am wondering if anyone else has had this same sort of issue happen and could direct me in the right direction.

how do you pull this off in a manual??? you mean with the clutch depressed too? you can't be "in a gear" and be stopped in a manual... unless you have no drive shaft... or a broken axel... but that's beside the point...
this "clutch was changed last November", did you pulled that too from the parts truck, or it's the same clutch in the truck after the swap... basically, what clutch is in the truck now, and where did it come from...
it sounds to me like a clutch disc issue, maybe boken spring, or something else in the disk assymbly... if let go too long and that's what it is, you may be looking at replacing a gouged up flywheel and/or pressure plate...
did you thouroughly inspect all these parts as you put the tranny in; new or used?

Stopped with the e-brake on, tranny in first, slipping the clutch.
Clutch was brand new from toyota last november.
I yanked the old transmission but I had a shop put the other one in. They stated that they looked at the clutch when they removed it.
I was thinking the exact same thing as you stated... I am going to have the clutch yanked again in the next week or so.
