transmission fluid?

I'm in the process of putting a clutch in my truck and the tranny tipped over and I lost most of the fluid. I have a 95 pickup 4x4 v6, 3vze engine. I was wondering if I could just fill the transmission at the top where I removed the shifters and then check it in the side?. Also is the little silver circular allen hex type plug on the right side the fill plug?

no do not fill it up to the top! There is a drain plug on the bottem and a fill plug on the side! fill it until fluid starts to run a little bit out of the fill plug! Or until you can touch the fluid with you pinky in the fill hole! Thats when you know it full!

best way to fill it is to go to the parts house they should have a little hand pump so you can stick one tube in the tranny and the other in the bottle of fluid!

I didn't mean fill it to the top. I was wondering if you could fill it at the top and then check the side to see when it is full. Because I don't have a pump. I was just wondering, because if it spilled out of the top, then there should be no reason why you can't poor it into the top. Thx for the info on the fill plug.

Yeah fill it from the top, leave the side undone and wait for it to dribble out.
