Tranny dipstick and capacity question.

I have a 1990 truck, 4x4 with the auto trans.(had a 3.0 in it.. now has a 3.4 in it). I think the dip stick is not the factory one. I changed the fluids like i do in any new truck i get. The atf fluid only just touches the bottom of the stick and while thinking i needed more fluid i evidently overfilled it as now after a test drive there is tranny fluid all over the underneath side of the truck! rrrrr....

Is there any way to identify the factory dipstick? any markings on it?
And now that i've overfilled the trans do i need to do anything other than drain it again?

It should fit like a glove... Just go find a junkyard truck or 4runner and grab one.
