trail gear rear bumper

so I been looking at rear bumpers and rock sliders and I been looking at the 4x innovations rear bumper cuz it has class 2 hitch, and now it looks like they raised the price so now on the trail gear bumper it doesn't say it has a hitch build it in and read some places that they don't recommend towing trailers with it so is there any other rear bumpers out there that can pull a trailer or not.. i pull a 2 stall jet ski trailer and a 16 foot pontoon?

why not just get a trailer hitch that mounts to the frame?

I Think you'd be better off with a frame mount tow hitch for actual towing

Get a real hitch and then get the bumper you want. I used to tow alot with my 85. And with the smitty built hitch I slowly started to "bend" the bumper. Put a real reciever witch on it and never had a problem.

That I could not say. But pictures of your hitch would help. Maybe call TG and ask them.
Edit. So your new hitch is moving? Is it welded in place or bolted? Do you know why It is moving? Real hitches properly installed do not move at all.

Maybe crawl under there and see if its bolts that pulled loose or welds that broke. Sounds like one of the 2. Both should be pretty easy fixes. If you had a shop weld it in and their weld broke I would imagine that they would fix their bad weld for free. If not one of us around you has a welder I am sure. If its bolts. Then replace the bolts and probably put at least a few small welds to keep that from happening in the future.

Most of the tube style rear bumpers with a receiver built in won't fit with your current hitch, more than likely. I know TG, Marlin, and 4xinnovations all mount where the factory(and likely aftermarket) receiver hitches mount, therefore replacing them. 4xinnovations is the only one that I know of that is actually rated, but I've towed a couple thousand pounds with my Marlin. Just bolted on, though they do recommend welding it on at the end of the frame, too.

A standard receiver won't slip into a tg bumper. Designed like that so they don't have liability if you try to tow your boat to the lake and a disaster happens.

You could grind your receiver on the corners to fit though if you want to try it.

The receiver is really just there to use as an anchor point for recovery

Red face

It could also be the hole the pin rides in is worn

I have seen quite a bit of slop in new hitches the male receiver part and the pin .

To say you will have no movement is impossible.

Get a good trailer hitch build your rear bumper around the hitch.

As was stated most rear bumper manufactures don`t need the added liability of a rated trailer hitch then driving the costs even higher.

I know this thread is dead but i thought id reply any way .. I used my trail gear bumper to tow my malibu skier a lot of times with no issues at all its very solid . I did have to clean up the hitch a little slip in tho...if you look in my profile you can see the boat hooked up .
