Timing chain guide question

Can't seem to find this with a search. Can I replace the driver side timing chain guide without removing the timing chain? I'm buying a rebuilt engine and would like to put a steel guide on.

Yes. You will need to take the front cover off to access the two bolts. The chain can remain on.
