Timing chain broke! 22r and 22re heads the same?

well, my TC broke yesterday. I did some searching.
I thought I could just through a new timing chain kit on there and it would be good. but I probaly bent some valves. My friend has and 86 22r motor with 250,000 miles on it. I can probaly get it for 100$. Is it ok to put this head on my 88 22re? I only got 102,000, but i think the odometer is wrong.

what would you guys do? please help

same thing happened to me. i got new valves and had the head re worked. then put a new chain kit from engnbldr. if you go with him just be careful on the way you put in the new crank sprocket on, i did it backwards and the chain broke again so i had to do the job two times, not fun.

I pulled the valve cover off today and the chain is fine. The right guide broke into 2 and the bolt is missing. So I guess that the guide fell into the gear mesh and knocked it off of timing? Is that possible?

Can the valves still be damaged? I am still going to pull the head tommorow and check the valves.
