hello all, im back,sorry.how can i tell if the cam is at tbc for when i put my motor back together??when i too my head off 2 mo ago it was all lined up on tdc ,one more thing ,thould the number 1 pistion be right on top for the crank to be tdc,im just checking so i dont mess any thing up.....thanks

The precise way to tell is with a dial gauge on a magnetic base.. :-)
The easiest way to tell TDC on the bottom end is to line your crank pulley up with the "0" degree timing mark.
At TDC, the #1 piston is all the way up.
It all needs to work together though, so set the bottom end to TDC, make sure your cam is set with the dowl to 11-12 o'clock, and the distributor firing the #1 cylinder.
