Time for new rear axle bearings, some questions

94 4x4 SR5 Ext cab, need to replace the rear axle bearings in the truck.

Are rear axle service kits like the one Marlin Crawler sells acceptable or would it be better to go all Toyota?

https://www.marlincrawler.com/axle/r...ce-kit-1979-99

Also wondering about the oil, go Toyota or what else is good out there.

What is the capacity?

Cheers Andy

Marlin is the best source; been buying from them for years..

Gear oil Mobil one 75w-90 and no thicker or it will blow. that said straight 40wt motor oil works pretty good too. I run dex2 in the transmissions without issues.

My trusty 1994 owners manual states a capacity of 2.3qts Does that sound about right?

The Marlin kit is pretty reasonable price wise @ 69.00 + 69.00 + 17.00 shipping = 155 much better than buying everything separately from Toyota.

Cheers
Andy
