can't watch the video bud....says it's "private"
alot of ticking can be blamed on over-zealous tightening of the valve cover. did you torque correctly.....if too tight it will contact the rockers. also did you adjust the valves?

I pulled this engine from a truck i bought off a 70 sumthin yr old man who only sold it because of a bent up frame the engine sounded way better than my old one that belonged to a younger guy who beat the ˟˟˟˟˟ out of the entire vehicle. So ive taken alot of parts from the old mans truck to put on mine(except the pressure plate which was concaved in and the disc which had broken springs and heat scores) guess the oldtimer couldnt clutch as good as he used too. But i dont think he had any work done to the engine because he told me all of the new parts he put on the truck and never mentioned any engine work just said the engine was a cherry, and compared to mine i agree. but with 145k im thinking im probably due for a timing chain and guides and a look at the valves. also i get some oil on my no.4 spark plug im guessing comes from a leaky gasket. Anyways i really have to plan this stuff out because of time constraints with work, so im trying to figure out exactly what i want to do and how much time it will take me so i can schedule it in or if i can get many more miles out of it without hurting anything. any input greatly appreciated

sounds normal to me. kinda quiet if you ask me.

not sure where that wire goes, kinda looks like the wire that would go somewhere near the oil pressure sensor though.

thanks xtreme this is my first yota pickup and there arent many of these older ones left on the road around here because of the god awful amount of salt that northeast pennsylvania puts on these roads. so i havent had much to judge it against

NEPA Toyota takeover. ??????

within my 1 block of my house there is 2 88 4wds and 1 92ish 2wd, and there was a 94 lifted one not too long ago the guy ended up selling. Just helped a guy out with his clutch in the other 88 the other day. didn't work on it though, just told him what to look for.

i used to take my bronco 2 all over from mayfield/carbondale area all the way up to almost new york all on the trails
yea ill check out the thread
that wire is a mystery to me i cant see any open spots for it and i thought the same about the oil pressure sensor but i have a wire to that already and it doesnt have the two slots on it only one so idk trucks been running for 6 months without it

I have heard those trails are pretty good. I believe it's all hunting area too, which actually makes it perfectly legal off-roading territory I believe.

yea the worst that can happen is the club who rent the property for the hunting season can come and tell you to get off of their property but they are bluffing because they dont want ppl back there disturbing the deer and whatnot, they can be pricks but they can legally do nothing. plus i know linde the landowner not well but ive met him and got permission to be there. and in the winter u got the snowmobile club who gets really upset because the truck tracks mess up their snowmobile tracks but the same goes for them. Great trails with lots of different levels of ruggedness and danger. In the winter i work in the woods cutting white birch trees for my fathers business so ive been on alot of trails around nepa looking for and cutting birch and thats been great for finding the hidden offroad locales

I wish my truck sounded that smooth. Mine sounds like a diesel right now with the ticking I have in the valve head.

8 months omg cant take me that long unless i buy another vehicle to drive tho with the info im getting from this website and my pops(great mechanic) im hoping it will be rather quick when the time does come

hey 92 toy i just installed a radiator 2 days ago looks exactly like the one u have installed was hard to find for a manual 4wd this guy at auto parts international in dunmore said he can get me one for an auto or manual that would work so i installed it and the hood just barely closes with alot of force and my temp rises higher than it used to before the thermo opens and drops the temp im hoping that wont be a problem for me having to slam the hood against the cap cant be good so i suggest anyone looking for a radiator for a 5 speed 4wd gets one thats an exact fit

i had to put some relief cuts in my hood because it sat up higher.....by all rights we (you / me) and anyone else, should drill out some holes to allow it to sit lower.

not sure of any legal 4x4ing around here....Rausch was cool but brutal.
