Throttle plate setting at idle, 1994 pickup 22RE
Brother messed with TPS/throttle stop/dash pot set screws trying to "adjust idle" instead of turning the idle bypass screw. I have noticed there is no method for re-setting the correct throttle plate opening at idle in the factory repair manual, but that in the MFI System--Service Specifications section there is a spec that says, Throttle Body, Throttle valve fully closed angle, 6 degrees.
Can anyone verify if this means: Back off the throttle stop screw till throttle valve bottoms-out, mark the angle as zero degrees, and then set the stop screw when the angle reaches 6 degrees?

Back the stop out until the valve is fully closed, then slowly turn the stop back in until it is about to start opening the valve. At that point, give it another 1/4 turn and lock it down.

It's a pretty easy adjustment...I actually had to do this recently. Follow my instructions above or 4crawler's:

This is done so that the throttle plate is held just barely off fully close to prevent it from sticking inside the throttle body.
